Tuesday, April 17th and onward: The Music Man
The Music Man is the story of travelling conman Harold Hill, who arrives in River City to work his usual scam. He convinces the locals to start a band, purchasing the instruments and uniforms from him with the intent to flee as soon as he receives the money. The local librarian, Marian Paroo, suspects Harold is a fraud, but says nothing because her brother is so excited to join the band. As Harold develops feelings for Marian, he faces the difficult decision as to whether or not he should skip town and some crazy antics ensure!
This wonderful theatrical production is presented by the Stratford Festival Theatre, beginning Tuesday, April 17th at 2:0 pm, running through until November 3rd. You can purchase your tickets online on the Stratford Festival Theatre website. Tickets range in price from $28.49 – $69.30 each. Hurry fast as tickets for this show are expected to sell out fast!
Tuesday, April 17th and onward: Techie Tuesdays
Join the St Mary’s Library for Techie Tuesdays every Tuesday! This program is designed to familiarize children with new and accessible technologies such as Makey Makeys, Squishy Circuits, LEGO Robotics and more. Kids 7+ will learn valuable science, technology, engineering and math skills in a fun and engaging environment. Each week, the kiddies will get to play with different toys, technologies, and participate in a variety of activities to keep each session fresh and educational!

Wednesday, April 18th and onward: Adult Colouring
Join the St. Mary’s Library every Wednesday at 6:30 pm for a fun and relaxing adult colour program. This is a great way to reduce stress, hone your artistic skills, and meet new friends in the area! You are welcome to bring your own colouring utensils, or use the Library’s. They provide the colouring pages for you!

Wednesday, April 18th and onward: Preschool Storytime
Join the North Perth Library for stories, songs, games and crafts with your little one. This is a great event to encourage the joy of reading in your children and have some fun while you’re at it!

Thursday, April 19th and onward: Weekly Toastmaster Meeting
Looking for a way to improve your communication as well as leadership skills? Here is a great event that will help you do just that! The Linguists of Listowel host Toastmasters meetings every Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Thursday, April 19th, 2018: WOWSA Professional Headshot and Pampering Night
Put your best face forward at the WOWSE professional headshot and pampering night. Amanda Belec-Newton of T & J Studios Photography will be on site shooting professional headshots at The Old Post in Harriston on April 19th from 5:00-9:00 pm. Caitlin King of Hair Therapy and Lauren Harding of Pink Me Up Beauty Boutique will be on site to provide hair and makeup touch ups and ensure you are picture perfect! After you get your photo shot, join participants and organizers at Harry Stone’s Social House in downtown Harriston for cocktails and networking!

Friday, April 20th: Annual Breakfast with the Mayor
If you’re a Listowel business owner, join the North Perth Chamber of Commerce at the annual Breakfast with the Mayor event. Hear about the Municipality’s plans for North Perth, and meet Chamber members and fellow business owners in the community. It’s a great networking event featuring some delicious food for attendees.
This event takes place at the Listowel Golf Club on Friday, April 20th at 7:00 am. Tickets are $20 for Chamber members, and $30 for non-members and include breakfast. Check out the Facebook event page for more information and to order your tickets!
Friday, April 20th and onward: Tummy Time
Join Karen from the St. Mary’s Public Library at the Tea and Tummy Time program. This program is designed for parents/caregivers and infants who are not already crawling/walking to engage in various activities directed at enhancing motor and physical literacy skills and promote healthy development and growth. This session offers important bonding time for babies and parents, and helps at those critical development stages! Sessions will include tummy time, rhymes, and more! After Tummy Time, parents are encouraged to stick around for tea and to socialize with other parents while your little ones play with toys provided by the Library!
This event takes place every Friday at the St. Mary’s Library (15 Church St. N., St. Mary’s) from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm. Registration is not required, however the sessions will be limited to 10 participants maximum (not including parents/caregivers). The program is 45 minutes long, and parent/caregiver supervision is required. You can find more information on the Town of St. Mary’s website.
Saturday, April 21st (plus every Saturday year round): Stratford Farmer’s Market
Get your fill of farm fresh veggies, cheese, meats, baked goods, flowers, crafts, handmade gifts and more at the Stratford Farmer’s Market. Open even Saturday year round from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon, the Stratford Farmer’s Market is one of the oldest markets in Ontario, open since 1855! They hold a number of great special events the whole family can enjoy, including a weekly fall fair featuring an antique car and tractor show, pet show, horse show, talent show and more!

Saturday, April 21st: Listowel Kinettes Spring Mom to Mom Sale 2018
If you’re looking for anything mom-related, the Listowel Kinettes Spring Mom to Mom Sale is the event for you! A number of great vendors will be on site selling gently used children’s clothing, children’s toys, books, accessories, and much more! This event is perfect for anyone looking to get some good deals on new and used products.

Saturday, April 29th: Open Kitchen Classes: How do I use that (Pressure Cookers)
We all know there just never seems to be enough hours in a day – particularly when it comes to preparing delicious, healthy, home cooked meals. Pressure cookers are an excellent and energy efficient method of cooking food that also preserve nutrients during the cooking process. On Sunday, April 29th, join the Stratford Chef’s School in taking the fear out of pressure cookers. Watch and learn their trained chefs prepare stews, braises, grains, and stocks in less time with minimal fuss. These classes are perfect for anyone who wants to know “How do I use that?”
This event takes place on Sunday, April 29th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Stratford Chef’s School. The cost is $45 and you can register by calling (519) 271-1414. Public Health Regulations require that students wear closed toed shoes when participating in any cooking class. The class has a maximum capacity of 14 students, and classes are for students 16 years of age and older. Participants will be provided with an apron and all necessary tools and equipment.
